Although the Agios (St.) Mamas is not a well known Saint of the Greek Orthodox Church, there are several churches in various parts of Greece, dedicated to its sake. One of them is located in Naxos, among the mountain Za and mountains of Koronos.
The route is quite inaccessible, but the location compensates the daring visitor. The church of Agios Mamas, who is the patron of shepherds, stands in between a magnificent scenery.
The church is of special architectural interest as it is inscribed in cruciform with remarkable sculptures inside.
