Damarionas is a hilly traditional village in the centre of Naxos and one of the 38 villages and settlements that be governed in the Municipality Drymalias. It is built in foot of mountain Ridge in the end of basin of Tragaias and in altitude of 300 meters roughly. Abstains 16 kilometres from the capital of Naxos, the “Chora”, and has been characterized traditional settlement. Sights of Damariona are the bust of big Damarioniti Ioannis Paparrigopoyloy, the monument of fallen Damarioniton in our national fights, the bust of doctor Georgios Beroni in the entry of village, the paved slabs narrow streets, the Squareof Pateroy, the mansions Prompona, Basilikoylas and Mpakalainas. In Damariona there is Municipal School, and Intellectual and Cultural Centre. The holy temple of village is dedicated in the Metamorphosis of Christ. There is also, and private folklore collection, which is free for the visitors.
