Glynado (officially Glynados) is one from the 30 settlements that belong in the Municipality of  Naxos. It borders on Galanado. It  is one of  the most fertile regions of island, which allocates a very satisfactory water supply. Main occupation of residents is the agriculture and the livestock-farming. Characteristically there is big production of exceptional varieties of potato, and  also wine. Besides in Glynado is also the creamery, in which assemble the producers of flat Naxos and there becomes the production of milk and the production of excellent cheeses with a sovereign gruyere Naxos. In the village there are a lot of churches, biggest however is the holy temple of Saint Nicodeme that was built in the early 1990s.Between Glynado and in Galanado exists one from the older churches of island the church of Savior  which is built the cemetery of two villages. In the area of Yria are found the ruins of ancient temple of Dionysoy. The name of village is emanated from the word “glyna” which is characterization for ground  which is rich in clay  and no of course from the “glina”(grease of pig).
