In the area of Flerio, whence began the aqueduct and was the ancient sanctuary frequented quarrymen. The slopes of the mountains were rich deposits of marble in antiquity (700 BC) was exploited because of their good quality and locals have used them for building material in the construction works of sculpture. Extensively in this area have been preserved remnants of ancient quarrying activity.
