In the village of Halki, there is a sign which refers to St George the Diasoriti, situated in an olive grove in the plains of Tragaia. The church is a stone built, cruciform with a dome of simple four-column type with built piers and lower western narthex, decorated with many frescoes, typical of 11th century. The largest mural is that of St. George in apse, whose name has since its founding the church. Important paintings also are of St. Basil and Saint Gregory the Theologian and St. John Chrysostom and St. Nicholas, St. Phocas and St. John the Compassionate, the archangels Gabriel and Michael. The pictorial composition testifies synchronization of art on the island to other areas.
